We want to hear from you! When you enroll in WIC Messaging as a current WIC participant, you’ll get appointment notices, reminders to spend your benefits, and special announcements about WIC services.
How to sign up for WIC Text Messaging:
Text START to 91997 (Msg & data rates may apply). If you are already a WIC participant, send a second text with your Family ID# (nine numbers with no spaces) Example: 999888777
Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP to cancel. Text HELP for help. Message frequency varies.
If you need help retrieving your Family ID#, log into the California WIC App and click the menu button in the top left corner. Your Family ID # is at the top of the menu.
WIC Messaging is a system that allows WIC participants to request communication through text messages instead of by phone. Participants may still receive a phone call, for example, if we need your input on a short survey or if your appointment will be completed by phone, even if you choose to be a part of WIC messaging.
WIC sends appointment reminders, missed appointment notifications, reminders to use your WIC benefits, invitations to events, and occasionally messages about special announcements like the Farmers Market program,
You will receive a text message that confirms that you have been enrolled.
If you have a new phone number, text your name, date of birth, and WIC ID # to 91997 to update your record. This text will add your new phone number to the WIC messaging system.
