Visit the doctor for your child’s well child exam which may include a physical exam, shots, and other screenings based on age. These checkups can be used for enrollment in daycare centers, schools, or Head Start.
Check with your child’s doctor to see what vaccines are needed. During the 5 year old checkup, your child may receive a vaccine to protect their health.

If you don’t have a doctor or clinic, did you know your baby can get free vaccines through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program?

This is a great time to talk with your child’s doctor about how things are going at home with your child. Screenings on your child’s hearing, vision and oral health may be done.
Your child may probably participate more in this check-up visit than in the past because your doctor may ask more questions to him/her directly.
