Most jobs with PHFE WIC are for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, Degreed and Registration Eligible Nutritionists, Peer Counselors, WIC Nutritionist Assistants, and Lactation Consultants. WIC Nutritionists are a diverse and caring team of Registered Dietitians and Degreed Nutritionists who provide education, counseling, and one-on-one support to the parents and caretakers of young children in our community.

If you are someone who loves to connect with people and support their goals for raising a healthy family, this role may be a great fit for you.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) must have completed a dietetic internship, passed the RDN exam, and can provide proof of RDN credentials.

Degreed Nutritionists must have a Bachelor's degree from an ACEND Accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, and a verification statement is required. Nutrition and Diet Technicians (NDTRs) who have a Bachelor's degree from an ACEND Accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics and have passed the NDTR exam are also invited to apply for Degreed Nutritionist roles.

Degreed Nutritionists must have completed the following coursework before applying:

  • Basic Human Nutrition or Life Cycle Nutrition
  • Maternal, Child, & Infant Nutrition or Pediatric Nutrition
  • Diet Therapy, Clinical Nutrition or Disease and Medical Nutrition Therapy
  • Community Nutrition
  • Food Selection / Preparation
  • Psychology / Comparable Course

A transcript will be required to verify that the coursework has been completed. Are you missing a few classes? We recommend to apply after the courses have been completed.

About to graduate? Applicants must have completed their degree program before applying for this position. We encourage you to return and apply once you've completed your program. WIC is hiring all year round!

A WIC Nutrition Assistant (WNA) is someone who is passionate about caring for others through personal one-on-one counseling and group classes.

A WIC Nutrition Assistant - CinnaMoms is someone who has experience serving Black/African American families in any capacity and is passionate about community engagement.

WNAs have at least a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one year of customer service experience.

A WIC Peer Counselor (PC) is someone who is breastfeeding or has breastfed their own child, is enthusiastic about their breastfeeding success, and wants to help support pregnant people on their breastfeeding journeys.

PCs have at least a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one year of customer service experience.

If you are someone who loves to connect with people and support their goals, this may be a great fit for you.

A WIC lactation consultant provides hands-on support for breastfeeding parents and babies. They provide additional support for medical-related challenges to help parents meet their infant feeding goals.

WIC lactation consultants are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) who have backgrounds in health sciences, completed at least 95 hours of lactation-specific education and relevant clinic experience, and have successfully passed the IBCLC exam.
