Visit the doctor for your child’s well child exam which may include a physical exam, shots, and other screenings based on age. These checkups can be used for enrollment in daycare centers, schools, or Head Start.
Check with your child’s doctor to see what vaccines are needed. During the 4 year old checkup, your child may receive a vaccine to protect their health.

This is a great time to talk with your child’s doctor about how things are going at home with your child. Screenings on your child’s hearing, vision and oral health may be done.
Your child’s doctor will access gross motor skills, and observe your child’s speech for any difficulties.

Your child may have a reduced appetite because of a slower growth rate at this age. If your child refuses food, he/she is likely not hungry. Your child may eat more on some days than others—please do not worry!
You decide what healthy foods to offer, and your child decides which of these foods to eat, and how much to eat. Pick foods from all of the food groups to help your child grow and be strong.
