Visit the doctor for your child’s well child exam which may include a physical exam, shots, and other screenings based on age. These checkups can be used for enrollment in daycare centers, schools, or Head Start.
Check with your child’s doctor to see what vaccines are needed. During the 3 year old checkup, your child may receive a vaccine to protect their health.

This is a great time to talk with your child’s doctor about how things are going at home with your child. Screenings on your child’s hearing, vision and oral health may be done.
This is the time when your doctor will focus on reading and language development, healthy nutrition, and the prevention of safety risks. You may also be asked by your doctor about preschool plans.
You know your child best. Check in about your child’s progress toward important milestones.


Your child may change his/her mind a lot. Expressing independence through food likes and dislikes is completely normal. Your child may eat more on some days than others—please do not worry!
You decide what healthy foods to offer, and your toddler decides which of these foods to eat, and how much to eat. Pick foods from all of the food groups to help your toddler grow and be strong.
