Hours: M-F 8am to 6pm
The
toll free Breastfeeding Helpline has been supporting
breastfeeding mothers by answering questions
about breastfeeding for over 10 years. The Helpline
is staffed by 3 Certified Lactation Educators,
one of whom is also a  Lactation
Consultant. All the staff are Bilingual (English/Spanish).
The staff answers over 700 calls per month.
The majority of women call the for help in the
first few weeks after they have their baby and
the Breastfeeding Helpline has been responsible
for helping those women meet their breastfeeding
goals.
The
Helpline staff also manages Breastpump Loan
programs for breastfeeding women who either
have an infant in the NICU or who are returning
to work. The pumps in these programs are in
great demand and have helped breastfeeding women
in WIC provide the very best nutrition for their
infants, breastmilk.
